Retargeting: Troubleshooting

What format does my upload file need to be?

CSV upload requires that there are two columns:  Column A must be raw device IDs.  Column B must be the expiry. One device and expire per line; this is the record.

Accepted device ID format is raw iOS IDFA or Android GAID/AAID:  32 characters, with or without dashes. Lowercase or upper case letters supported.

You can set a custom retargeting list expiry date. Minimum of 1 day, maximum of 730 days (2 years).  If you do not enter a value for expiry, or if you enter a value of zero, the system will default to 365 days (one year). Expiry units are calculated in days. A value of -1 indicates that the record will be removed from the list. A value of 0 indicates the default expiry of 365 days. Custom expiries must range from 1 to 730. Anything else will error.

TXT upload is a list of device IDs, one per line.

Maximum upload file size: 4 GB.

Why am I getting an error?

Invalid Device IDs: The device ID is not valid. This may be due to invalid UUIDs or zero-valued UUIDs (00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000).

Invalid expiry dates: The expiry date is not valid. Please see above for valid expiry dates (-1, 0, 1-730).

Invalid upload file: Uploads are only accepted in CSV or TXT format, 4GB maximum.

Cancelled or interrupted upload: The upload occurs in real time.  If it is cancelled or interrupted, some of the data will likely still have been uploaded.  You do not need to create a new list; if you re-upload your list over top of anything already contained, it will work (ie, no duplicates, changes in expiry will be applied).

What is an invalid record?

This could be due to an invalid expiry date or an invalid device ID.

What is the expiry window and limits?

If uploading a CSV file, you can specify a custom expiry date; minimum of 1 day, maximum of 730 days (2 years).

Can I upload hashed lists?

No, only raw device IDs are supported at this time.

Can I use this feature via API?

Yes; you can find this feature in our API documentation

Can I delete device IDs from an existing list?

Yes: on your CSV upload, enter the expiry date (column B) as -1.  This will remove the device ID from your list.

What expiry is my TXT file of device IDs?

A TXT file upload will default to an expiry of 365 days (1 year).
